Designing your wedding from beginning to end

At Love Letter Weddings, we feel extremely passionate about making your wedding day both organized AND beautiful. Our goal is to ensure your wedding is prettier than you could have ever imagined and it feels intentional. Having spent years designing weddings, we’ve created a process that is collaborative and thorough. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we turn your wedding day dreams into reality.

Sharing Inspiration

The first step is sharing your inspiration with us! We invite you to share your Pinterest boards, IG bookmarks, random screenshots, or any visual elements that you’ve been tucking away. In addition, we love learning about your love story and any personal details you’d like to incorporate. Great examples of this are your pets, hobbies, favorite places to eat, etc. This helps us ensure that your wedding is a true reflection of who you are and not a recreation of multiple Pinterest images.

Pictured below is a great example of how we incorporated a past client’s passion for vintage cars into their seating chart, table numbers and even the couple’s portraits!

Mood Boards

Once we have your inspiration, our design team dives into creating multiple mood boards. Each mood board is designed to inspire you with different directions we can take the overall aesthetic. We take many of your initial photos and blend them with other carefully selected images to craft a collage that we feel represents your vision. Sometimes we find ourselves working with cohesive inspiration and a clear color palette and we use the mood boards to help us determine the formality or underlying themes. Other times, we are presented with seemingly random inspiration and we identify the patterns within it to inspire our clients on the overall vibe.

Once the mood boards are presented to you, we take all of your feedback to refine the design. Sometimes this means combining elements of the mood boards we shared, or simply refining your favorite one. This step is all about making adjustments until the mood board perfectly represents your vision.  

The mood board process helps to hone in the vision and sets the tone for your wedding aesthetics. It’s an essential process that allows us to have visual talking points and eventually capture the essence of what you want.

Design Presentation

Once the mood board is perfected, we move on to creating a comprehensive visual design presentation. This includes outlining every detail of what your event will look like! Our design presentation typically covers:

  • Wedding party attire

  • Styling details

  • Welcome area

  • Ceremony setup

  • Cocktail hour setup

  • Bar styling

  • Reception setup

  • Table scape

  • Food styling

As we put together all of these ideas, we stay mindful of your goal budget for rentals, flowers, and other decor. We want to create a mood board that reflects your style while at the same time respecting what you are comfortable spending.

As we share the design presentation, this is another opportunity for you to share your feedback. We’re committed to making sure that every element of the design aligns with your vision before moving forward.

Sourcing All The Things

With the overall vision in place, it is a cinch for us to begin sourcing all the materials needed to bring your wedding to life. 

We always begin with rentals. Our goal is to source all the right elements while minimizing delivery and set up costs. After that, we move on to flowers. Our design presentation ensures nothing is lost in translation with the floral design team and all the little things are considered in the initial quote. From there, we move on to sourcing all your wedding day graphics and signage. For any decor items that need to be sourced online, we do the research and create a shopping list for you to order and ship items directly to our office.  Last but not least, we offer access to our own decor inventory for items you may want to incorporate at no additional cost.

As the wedding gets closer, we work closely with you to fine tune invoices to reflect your final guest count as well as last minute additions or subtractions to the overall design plan.

Bringing Your Vision to Life

On the big day, our team arrives ready to be hands-on and set up your decor according to plan. We pay attention to every detail, ensuring that every element—from the smallest rental item to the grandest floral arrangement—reflects our carefully laid plans. 

Collaborating with your vendors on the day of, plays a large role in the success of the decor. We work closely with the rental crews to ensure everything is placed in the perfect location. This is often an overlooked step, but makes a huge difference in the final product.

For items borrowed from our inventory or shipped to our office, we take special care in styling them amongst the rentals and flowers. We always strive to ensure the flow, balance and overall styling of everything is thoughtfully considered on your behalf.
