In the wedding industry, repeat business is not really the kind of business you are looking for… unless it is a former client’s family member!! When I first started Love Letter Weddings, I was still paying my bills by managing an Italian restaurant. It just so happened that the landlord of the restaurant frequently dined there with his wife and two daughters. Over the course of several years, we got to know each other and they were so supportive of my entrepreneurial endeavors.

A few years into owning my business, the younger of the two daughters got engaged and I was so flattered when she knew right away that she wanted to hire Love Letter Weddings to plan her wedding. Fast forward several years, the older daughter got engaged and said the exact same thing!

From the get go, I was excited to work with this couple. Not only did I already adore their whole family, but the bride was excited to have a French themed celebration to honor her fiancé. As many couples experienced in 2020, our French inspired wedding plans were put on hold for a year and a half due to COVID. In the meantime, the sweet couple decided to get married at the courthouse, have a baby and save the big party for later.

Finally, in October 2021, after having 3 dates and multiple replans due to guest capacity rules, we finally got to celebrate these two! The ceremony and reception was held at a country club in the heart of Honolulu. My former client and the bride’s brother in-law performed a beautiful ceremony in the courtyard. Large banquet tables set up under café lights on the lawn were graced with French inspired flower arrangements and lots of twinkling candles.

The bride’s parents surprised the couple with recorded video toasts that the groom’s family in France (who could not travel internationally yet) had made for the couple. The night ended with everyone on the dancefloor until the club closed.
