Incorporating Your Fur Babies in Your Wedding
Here at Love Letter Weddings, we are huge animal lovers! When we envision our own weddings, it’s hard to imagine celebrating without our furry BFFs. Many of our clients share our sentiment towards their pets! Luckily for them, we’ve come up with a ton of ideas to help them celebrate with or honor their fur babies on their wedding day.
Pre-Ceremony Ideas
If you are planning a destination wedding in Hawaii, you have to keep in mind traveling with your pets can be difficult since the state requires them to be quarantined upon arrival. You also have to take into consideration if the venue will allow pets and if you’re going to worry about them throughout your wedding day.
If you are able to avoid or work around some of these obstacles, we recommend incorporating them into your getting ready. We love the idea of having your photographer snapping cute pictures of your animal sitting on your lap while getting your hair and makeup done!
After getting ready together, head on over to your first look with your beloved fur baby! We also think it’s a cute idea to dress them up for the occasion while taking family pictures. We have seen it all from bowties, full tux and flower collars for the cuties.
Ceremony Ideas
Another idea is having them be a ring bearer! Provided you can secure the rings well, what is cuter than your pup delivering the rings for the ring exchange. If you don’t want to risk that, you can meet your pet at the end of the aisle and have them wait at the altar! For a very non-traditional route, you can always be walked down the aisle by your pooch or have them as part of your wedding party.
Honoring Your Pets
If your companion cannot make it to your wedding day for whatever reason, there are plenty of options to incorporate them in other ways!
Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate with your pets (in spirit) on your wedding day:
Include them in your engagement photos that you use for your save the dates and wedding website.
Have a locket with a photo of your pet attached to your bouquet.
Many of our clients choose to commission custom illustrations and use them in graphics throughout the wedding décor.
You could name your signature drinks after your furry friends.
You could honor them with framed photos at the registration table.
Another great idea would be to use pictures of your babies as table numbers.
Another option is getting cut outs of them to have for a photo booth prop!
Last but not least, order a custom cake topper of your pet to sit atop your wedding cake.
Overall, there are plenty of ways to incorporate your pets into your wedding day. We hope some of our ideas have inspired you to add this personal touch to your day!
