This lovely bride was a friend and a fellow wedding vendor before she was a client. We first met when she reached out to me to see if I would be willing to help her with a photo shoot. After a coffee date and some shared inspiration photos, I knew we would be a good team. Lucky for me, she felt the same way about me helping her plan her wedding a few years later!
I have so many favorite parts of this wedding. First of all, I really enjoyed getting to know the bride better through planning her wedding. A vendor to vendor relationship is one thing, but when you have an opportunity to share in someone’s big day with an important role, you gain a different kind of appreciation for each other. I was also super excited about the venue she chose! As a photographer, she wanted to ensure the photos were going to be amazing so she chose Kualoa’s Jumanji and Low Camp locations. Lastly, her flowers that we got to design!!! After viewing this gallery, you will know what I mean.
On the wedding day, my first stop was to deliver the bouquets in person and to give the bride a big hug! The groom and groomsmen, obviously excited, arrived early to check in and get ready for the first look. One of the groomsmen managed to slip in a prank first look before the bride’s which made for the perfect ice breaker. The ceremony itself took place with the most epic backdrop, the Ka’a’awa Valley. Once everyone had a chance to take photos at the epic location, guests were shuttled down the valley to the cocktail hour. The bride’s friends performed live while guests enjoyed locally inspired passed appetizers and a cold brew station. Once dinner was finished, the bride’s cousins performed what they called a Portugie Lion dance. It was the perfect infusion of local culture and humor. It was a huge honor and pleasure to be part of this very special celebration!
