lauren and david
Where do I start with these two?! They were an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Not only were they sweet, organized and appreciative, but they were incredibly creative and had the best sense of humor. Dream clients to say the least!
Although it is fairly rare for our clients, these two also lived on island. Since they were able to be more involved in their planning, they opted to hire us for our Maid of Honor for Hire services (consulting + month of coordination). It ended up being the perfect fit for them, because they loved being hands on, but welcomed all of our guidance and recommendations.
A neutral palette with lots of tropical greenery was the foundation for their design aesthetic. They started by designing and creating their own wedding invitations. From there, they began collecting woven, rattan and glass elements from thrift stores to pull together the layered look they were going for. When it came to flowers, we got very hands on and helped them create a cohesive green and white tropical vibe. In a few key areas we decided a pop of color was the perfect way to add excitement. As the wedding got closer, they came up with all sorts of very cool ideas. Since they managed a brewery, they were able to custom can a signature cocktail with their own logo. Also, for favors, the bride created three different kinds of health shots in cute mini jars.
The wedding day was a ton of fun! Both the bride and groom had large wedding parties which meant the party started with the getting ready. With the final stages of getting ready happening at the venue, the couple opted to do a first look and fun photos with the wedding party before the guests arrived. Being present and celebrating with their guests was a priority for them.
Before the ceremony, guests gathered for a pre ceremony cocktail hour. A massive charcuterie board and beers from their brewery were a hit with the guests. Once everyone had arrived, guests were invited to board a catamaran to take them to Secret Island for the ceremony. The ceremony took place on the beach with the bride’s grandfather performing the ceremony and her mother playing ukulele and singing.
After the ceremony everyone headed back to the cocktail hour for more tasty appetizers and a full bar. For the reception, guests were invited up the grand staircase to reveal the reception area adorned with beautiful wood tables, lush tropical leaves and perfectly styled place settings. For dinner, guests enjoyed an island inspired buffet. The night ended with beautifully heartfelt speeches, an affagoto bar, a full dancefloor and a very happy newlywed couple!
