This past year was the year we got booked to plan several full service weddings in under 6 months! These two were one of those couples and we are so stoked with how beautiful this the Hawaii Kai backyard wedding turned out!

When this couple first approached me, they were in search of the perfect planner to bring their intimate destination wedding vision to life. They had originally started to plan a wedding in California where they live, but when they started to see how quickly it was added up, they ditched that plan. Instead they decided to take up their close friend’s offer to use his family’s ocean side home on Oahu for a destination wedding. That’s where I came in!

Backyard weddings are some of my all time favorites. There is nothing more special than choosing a venue that has sentimental value and that you can go back and visit at any time. With that being said, there are always some trickier elements when you are working with a property that is not set up to be a wedding venue. In this particular case, we wanted to keep the wear and tear down on the beautiful hardwood floors so we had to find a creative way to get the guests to enter the backyard. Luckily, there was a darling palm lined pathway around the side and with a few strategically placed lanterns and flowers, it made the guest entrance extra special. Other features of this wedding included a stunning semi tropical circle arch for the ceremony, an elaborate Persian fresh fruit table and twinkly lights hanging from everywhere!

Aside from the super fun and elegant design we created, we also made sure the program was a blast too! The two main highlights were 1. the bride and groom grand entrance with the Tahitian dancers and 2. the Persian cake knife dance. This wedding was so stunning and the fusion of Hawaiian entertainment and Persian culture made it one of a kind!
