OUR TOP 5 TIPS TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR FLORAL BUDGET
Raise your hand if you freakin’ love flowers, but are pretty sure everything on your pinterest board is way over your flower budget! Wedding flowers can certainly add up quickly but with the right guidance, there are so many ways to get creative without breaking the bank.
Here’s our top 5 designer tips that can help you make the most of your flower budget…
Tip #1
The cost of a flower arrangement is dependent on a few things. One of the main things is the type of flowers used in the design. If you love yourself some $$$ flowers, we recommend only incorporating those flowers into the most photographed areas of your wedding. Some examples of this would be bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony altar, and the sweetheart table. For all the other arrangements, you can substitute a matching but more cost effective alternative. You will for sure save money and no one will be the wiser!
Tip #2
Consider switching up the styles of guest table centerpieces. We love doing a mix of a classic centerpiece with something simpler, like a cluster of candles nestled in a bed of vines. Also long garland arrangements tend to require a lot more product (ie more $$), so doing a mix of long table arrangements and standard round table arrangements can be a clever way to get the best of both worlds. If anything, switching up the centerpiece designs will add visual interest to your reception space.
Tip #3
Opt for flowers and greenery that are in season and/or local. This may seem obvious, but it is often overlooked. Trying to get in a product that is at the end of its season often means it costs more per stem. It also means that your florist will likely have to over order to account for a percentage of the blossoms being past their prime. When it comes to local flowers, they are usually the freshest and have less shipping costs driving up the price. Being flexible with the product used can help save a lot of money.
Tip #4
Get creative with your vases! We absolutely love using unexpected vessels like bowls, gardening pots or great thrift store finds for arrangements. Not only are they often totally unique, but they can save a lot of money.
Tip #5
Consider repurposing arrangements from the ceremony to the reception. We love helping clients get the most bang for their buck by transitioning an epic altar arrangement into an even more epic sweetheart arrangement. Sometimes we even recommend using some of your centerpieces to line the aisle. A dramatic aisle entry arrangement often looks great at the bar or buffet too. This strategy wont work for every arrangement, but if you ask your florist, they will be able to advise you on how to get the most out of your blooms.
